Everything about launching a coin on Scanny, in plain steps.
Scanny turns any product's barcode into a coin on pump.fun. You scan the barcode with your phone, and if nobody has launched that barcode yet, you launch its coin and earn 50% of its creator fees for life.

You can also stay on the computer: upload a photo of the barcode, use the computer's camera, or type the barcode number. You need a wallet extension such as Phantom or Solflare to sign.
Each barcode can have exactly one coin. The coin's address is worked out from the barcode's digits, so the chain itself refuses a second coin for the same barcode.
If someone launched it before you, the product page shows their coin with a link to buy it on pump.fun. If two people launch the same barcode at the same moment, the first transaction to reach the chain creates the coin. The other one fails before it spends anything beyond its network fee.
The person whose launch lands holds that barcode for good, and earns its fee share for life.
Every trade of a coin on pump.fun pays a creator fee. For each coin launched here, that fee is split between these wallets:
The split is written into the coin when it is created, using pump.fun's fee sharing, and the right to change it is given up in the same transaction. pump.fun pays each share straight to its wallet. Nobody, including Scanny, can change the split of a coin after it exists.

These percentages are settings the operators choose before a coin is created (the launcher's share, the treasury's cut and any invite share). Each coin keeps the split it was created with.
You pay for your own launch from your wallet: your first buy, if you choose one, plus about 0.03 for network fees and the rent the new accounts need. Your wallet shows the exact amount before you approve.
Scanny takes no fee for launching. Claiming a barcode that no product database knows yet is free.
Any product with a retail barcode: EAN-13 and EAN-8 (most of the world), UPC-A and UPC-E (North America), and ITF-14 on outer cases. Products are looked up in Open Food Facts first, then UPCitemdb, so food, drink and household goods are the best covered.
If no product database knows a barcode, you can name the product and claim the barcode now. Its coin can launch once a product database confirms the product.
You need a Solana wallet with a little in it. Phantom and Solflare both work on phones. Scanny walks you through the rest, and your wallet shows what you are approving before anything happens.
pump.fun pays your 50% of the creator fees straight to the wallet that launched the coin. You can see your coins and what they have earned by tapping Connect wallet.

You need its barcode in front of your camera, or a photo of it. Anything on a shelf, in your fridge or in a photo works.
The brands have no connection to Scanny or to the coins. Coins are made by people, named after the products they scan. Product and brand names belong to their owners.
An amount of you spend on your own coin in the same transaction that creates it. Nobody can buy before you, because the buy is part of the creation.
It stays on your phone while you take it. If you choose it as the coin's picture, the cut-out is uploaded and redrawn as a plain image with no camera data, such as location.
Nothing is created and you keep your , apart from the network fee if the transaction reached the chain. You can try again.

Fees only come in while people trade a coin. A coin nobody trades earns nothing.
